History of Medicine Library

Library The library, founded in the 1930s by Adalberto Pazzini, has a rich bibliographic and documentary heritage, which includes approximately 3,000 volumes published before 1830. The library participates in the digitization project conducted by Google and coordinated by the Sapienza Library System. The digitized volumes can be consulted in the Sapienza catalog . The library also includes several personal scientific archives, which document the history of Italian biomedicine between the 19th and 20th centuries. It has a specialized user base, but also includes a reading room that is very popular with students.

Services • Reference : the staff provides information and support on bibliographic research, on the use of catalogues, databases, periodicals, texts and articles.



Consultation Access to the library is reserved for all institutional users for the consultation of texts that takes place inside the library reading room. Loans are granted to all institutional users

Additional Information The library is accessible to disabled users. Access is possible from the ramp located at the rear entrance of the building; there is a lift, with a dedicated wheelchair, to go up to the first floor where the Library is located.
